Grounds for Divorce
Like marriage, divorce is a major part of life in the United States. Every state has laws governing divorce and setting procedures for it. California is no exception. The first thing that the state requires to be addressed is why the divorce is being applied for.
The state of California officially accepts only two reasons for a divorce. One reason is if the marriage has too large of a chasm, if their marriage can last no longer. One spouse may have cheated on another spouse. The marriage may be abusive. The couple may just not get along and be constantly arguing. Or, the marriage may just have been a mistake. In the end, the court determines whether the marriage can last or not.
The only other official reason why a divorce can occur is if one spouse is insane. If one of the spouses has become insane, a divorce can occur. For a divorce to be annulled on grounds of insanity, there must be sufficient proof, including medical or psychological, that the spouse was insane at the time the divorce was filed for.
Courts almost never deny a divorce. Anyone who wants a divorce can get one. For example, many people do a shotgun wedding and within days regret the decision. So, they apply for and are granted a divorce.
