The governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife, Maria Shriver, have announced that they will be separating after 25 years of marriage.

Shriver and Schwarzengger have said that they came to the decision together and will continue to parent their four children together. Their children are are ages 21, 19, 17 and 13.

They also have stated that this a private issue in their lives and have requested respect from the public during this time. The 55-year-old Shriver reportedly moved out of the home they shared a few weeks ago. Schwarzenegger became famous as an action movie star before moving into politics and Shriver is a journalist and best-selling author.
