Jessica Simpson to sign prenup before second marriage

Posted on December 13th, 2010 No Comments

Last month, Jessica Simpson announced her engagement to former NFL player Eric Johnson.  The singer, who was previously married to singer Nick Lachey, also told sources that she intends to sign a prenuptial agreement.

Pre-marital agreements, or prenuptial agreements, help to define a person’s property and assets before the marriage.  In the case of a divorce, a pre-marital agreement can protect an individual’s possessions and can save time in divorce proceedings.

Simpson is estimated to be worth $75 to $100 million.  Sources say that she has expressed no concern about her and Johnson’s marriage lasting, but is simply being cautious.

Pre-marital agreements are not only for the rich and famous.  If you have questions about creating or signing a pre-marital agreement, contact the Santa Clara pre-marital agreement attorneys of The Law Office of Daniel Jensen at 408-296-4100 today to learn more.
